When to Visit the Dentist for a Checkup
At Windsor Estates Family Dentistry, our dentist believes that every tooth deserves to be cared for as oral health can have a significant impact on your overall health. For this, the standard recommendation is to visit the dentist twice a year for regular checkups and cleaning.
Why should you visit a dentist at least twice a year? Here are some things to consider:
• Upon your initial checkup, the dental staff will take x-rays, including a panoramic x-ray of your mouth. You will get a complete oral examination by the dentist who will check for complications that you might not see or feel, including early signs of tooth decay, gum disease and other things that can affect not just your oral health, but your overall health.
• The dentist will also check your oral hygiene, and will recommend dental cleaning that will remove any plaque buildup.
• By regularly visiting the dentist, you can prevent periodontal diseases that usually happen because of the erosion of the gum tissues and can also detect any other oral disease.
• It is undoubtedly an economical option as regular dental visits will help you identify the problems early and avoid additional cost of treating an affected area.
